Harvard Hillel and the 1636 Forum present a critical webinar discussing the recently released findings from Harvard University's Presidential Task Force on Combating Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias. This groundbreaking report represents a pivotal moment for the Jewish community at Harvard. The task force has identified concrete steps forward to address antisemitism on campus, and we must understand what these recommendations mean for our community. (The good people at the 1636 Forum have created a helpful summary of the 300+ page report, which you can find here: https://1636forum.com/2025-04-30-spec...) In our Tuesday statement, we committed to working closely with President Garber, the Harvard Corporation, and faculty to create lasting change at Harvard: Today’s report marks a critical step in Harvard’s long, and long overdue, reckoning with anti-Semitism. Two things are clear: for years, Jewish and Israeli students at Harvard have been the victims of a social, political, and intellectual campaign of delegitimization and stigmatization supported by many members of the student body and faculty; and President Garber is committed to addressing the deeper causes of this intolerable state of affairs and not merely their headline-grabbing manifestations over the past nineteen months. We look forward to working closely with President Garber, the Harvard Corporation, and the faculty to rededicate this great university to tolerance and the pursuit of truth. This webinar is our first concrete step toward fulfilling that promise – bringing together distinguished experts to discuss implementation and how we can ensure these vital recommendations move from paper to reality. DISTINGUISHED PANEL: Professor Jared Elias - Co-chair of the Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias Task Force; HLS Professor Rabbi David Wolpe - Former Visiting Scholar at Harvard Divinity School; Emeritus Rabbi of Temple Sinai of Los Angeles Allison Wu - HBS Alumna (MBA 2022); 1636 Forum Co-founder Professor David Schizer - Former Dean of Columbia Law School; co-chair of Columbia’s Antisemitism Task Force Moderated by Rabbi Jason Rubenstein, Executive Director of Harvard Hillel
