Dub Poetry is a bit of a dead genre by now. But from the 70s to the 90s, it was growing strong with a lot of influential artists that you will hear in this mix. You could say that Dub Poetry lyrically is the artsy version of Reggae music with lots of topics being mention here: Politics, colonialism, social issues, misogyny or just daily life. Jah9 is one of the most recent artists I can remember who embodies a lot of what what made Dub Poerty so special. Cannot think of anyone else, sadly. Anyway, enjoy this mix and appreciate the music!
