The Texas Moaners interprets the music of the great Sidney Bechet, Pops Foster, Eddie Lang, Edmond Hall, Jimmie Noone, Henry "Red" Allen, and more, with lighthearted effervescence and dedication to the spirit with which the music was originally presented. The band also draws inspiration from pop, jazz, folk, blues, and spirituals from the 1920's, 1930's, and beyond. Formed in 2017, the quartet is made up of staple performers in the Austin music scene; JD Pendley, Lauryn Gould, David Jellema, and Ryan Gould. http://austinjazzsociety.org https://monksjazz.com Also streaming on FB at / 804055000383202 --- Live From East Austin Piano Shop One Set @ 7:30pm JD Pendley - Guitar Lauryn Gould - Soprano Saxophone David Jellema - Clarinet Ryan Gould - Double Bass We invite viewers to donate; contributions ensure performers get paid, with surplus funds going into Austin Jazz Society’s “Project Safety Net” – a project initiated in late March to assist Austin-area jazz musicians whose livelihoods have been affected by the pandemic.
