It was a balmy 2 degrees out today (and about the fourth straight day of sunshine on the West Coast), so I figured I'd head out to test the new arrows I made up. I'm down to the last couple of practise arrows from my very first batch - having busted up the majority of them. I purchased some 1816 Easton Camo Hunters and cut them to 28". It was the first time I'd used my newly purchased arrow saw, and I'm glad to say things went very smoothly - cutting the shafts on the saw was actually easier than I thought. I then squared the ends off (not that they needed very much of it) with a G5 ASD (Arrow Squaring Device). I installed the inserts - using the same glue I use for fletching my arrows (Loctite Ultra Gel) and then hit the insert faces with the ASD for good measure. As I had some leftover barred feathers from my first batch of arrow supplies, I used up the remaining ones on these arrows. And that's it! They seem a little heavier than my original carbons, but they shoot straight enough for my purposes... Thanks again for looking! Cheers, hsld.
