Buttonwood Campground ( My House Follows Me )

This camping trip was a celebration for two reasons—Gino’s birthday and the first time he took out his new DJI Mavic Air drone. Exciting for him for sure. Happy birthday to him! We headed to Buttonwood Campground in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania from our home in Connecticut, and it ended up taking us six hours to get there. Long drive for sure. We headed out on Friday and stayed through Monday. Friday was a nice day and we set up camp along the river—yeah!—and began our fun. Saturday turned out to be the nicest day of all and gave Gino the opportunity to take out the drone in one of the open fields of the campground. We enjoyed a few walks with the dog and enjoyed the weather. The staff at Buttonwood was so helpful, family oriented and very friendly. It’s a very clean park and was filled with families. Sunday rolled around and we began to feel the effects of a pretty good wind and a lot of rain. No awning for us! It was beautiful being on the river but not when it started to rise Sunday night and into Monday, so we hooked up early Monday morning to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice, if need be. We’d gladly stay again at Buttonwood and had a very relaxing time, even with the weather!
