A lot of wind in this one so, fair warning. In this video I take a look at what remains of the world war 2 chain home low radar station RAF Marks Castle. In the beginning of the video I include two photos of what the site roughly looked like back when it was in operation. Amazing relics of the past left. Mainly foundations of the Nissan huts, the two radars that were here, generator huts. Plus an overgrown air raid shelter and remains of anti aircraft gun foundations. I believe after the war everything remained in place until the 1950s then got demolished. "RAF Mark's Castle was a secret World War II Chain Home Low (CHL) radar station situated above Trevescan Cliff near Sennen and Land's End in Cornwall. Operational 24/7, this site monitored coastal traffic and, along with nearby RAF Carn Brae, played a crucial role in defending the area. Its ruined buildings are sometimes misidentified as a castle but were part of a coastal radar network." #abandoned #abandonedplaces #abandonedworld #explore #hiking #history #photography #urbanexploration #urbanphotography #urbex
