Contact us: 📲: +974 5034 3737 E - [email protected] 0:24 thank you so much for coming on the podcast with us thank you for having me oh my word and and you've come to Qatar 0:30 you're from Australia Sydney yes I am Sydney I'm from Sydney um and I've come to Doha and it's been wonderful oh okay 0:38 so introduce yourself and tell us what you do um okay so my name is sedon I'm from Sydney Australia um I'm a founder 0:45 of dignified caring um it's a it's a healthcare organization that provides 0:51 disability support for people living with disabilities um we focus on uh neurod degenerative uh uh rare genetic 1:00 disorders and spinal injuries um so those are the kind of disabilities that we provide support for we also provide 1:08 support for people with mental health so um yeah that's in a nutshell that's what 1:14 we do we have over about between 60 to 100 staff who are clinically trained and 1:21 also qualified I find this dager yeah and they and these These are 1:28 the wonderful human beings who go out there and provide the support of of the highest standard you're such a delicate 1:35 lady and when I first met you um it was really good for me because I we're going 1:40 to get through your story right but where I laugh about how you've come such 1:46 a long way mhm through having hurdles that you've had to overcome Y what is 1:53 just let's go back a little bit and let's kind of tell a little bit fill everybody in on on your life okay well 2:00 um I was bornn in Karachi Pakistan and when I was born the doctor noticed that 2:07 I had uh low muscle tone I wasn't reaching my Milestones on time and so 2:12 they started to do some investigating but because um you know they didn't have enough resources or the tools to 2:19 actually investigate further they thought it was they thought it was best for me to go out um and uh seek 2:25 treatment elsewhere so my dad migrated to Australia um so because of the treatment that you had 2:32 to go through your dad said right let's let's all take the family to Australia 2:37 that's right and I mean I have him to thank um for making that leap of faith 2:43 because he had to leave everything um everything everything he knew all the people he knew you know his work his 2:50 family um and he just came out here with my mom and me um and then we saw uh some 2:58 of the best uh surgeons uh some of the best doctors uh and so initially my 3:05 doctor saw me because he noticed that I had a curve in my back um and he said oh 3:10 you know it looks like it's scoliosis but then you know as he treated me further he noticed that uh he noticed 3:16 the low muscle tone and uh me not walking on time and and all of those Milestones that I was um taking time in 3:24 reaching and he said you know what this uh this is something that needs to be further investigated so 3:30 I underwent genetic testing and surely they found um that I 3:37 had a rare genetic syndrome named ear stanless syndrome um and I had a rarer
