In this video, I pour an 8’x9’ concrete slab by myself using the MudMixer — no rebar, no help, just me, some 2x4s, and 34+ bags of cement. This pad will be used for some lounge chairs and maybe a grill, so I kept things simple but solid. 📍Here’s the step-by-step: • Removed my gravel and weed barrier • Dug down 3” to keep the slab flush with the existing gravel • Tamped a new gravel base • Built a form using 2x4s and stakes • Hauled bags of concrete through loose gravel (hardest part!) • Poured the slab the next day using the MudMixer • Finished with a mag float, steel trowel, edger, and broom for texture This DIY concrete slab is perfect for small patios, hot tubs, fire pits, or lounge areas.
