Color has always played a meaningful role in how I design, whether I’m crafting a handmade card or choosing paint for a room in my home. I’ve long believed that color can shape emotion, and one of my favorite examples is my bedroom. I chose Sherwin-Williams Peppercorn, a deep, moody charcoal, because it evokes a sense of calm the moment I walk in. That experience, feeling how color can influence mood, made the AECP In the Mood for Color course resonate with me even more. The course explores how color choices can transform not just the look of a card, but the emotional experience it creates. Today, I’m diving deeper into the psychology of color and how we can use it intentionally to elevate our cardmaking. One of the projects that perfectly illustrates the emotional power of color is a card I created using Altenew’s Rolling Hills Stencil and Rolling Hills 3D Embossing Folder. My goal was to capture the peaceful, almost meditative feeling of watching the sun set behind a quiet landscape. https://thebeautifulmessycrafter.blogspot.com
