Our Holkar family proudly grows the largest wine grapes in India. My father, Mr Kishor Holkar, is the owner of Vinsura Wines, established among the first five wineries in India. I have had the privilege of closely witnessing the evolution of the Indian wine industry since childhood. I pursued education and work in countries like New Zealand, France, and South Africa. Wine Information Centre (WIC) founded by myself (Vikrant Holkar) is situated in India's first wine park, nestled in the picturesque city of Nashik, referred to as the wine capital of India. WIC boasts the largest collection of wines available at factory prices. Moreover, we organise educational wine tours tailored for students, aiming to make wine education accessible and affordable and provide free accommodation and a certificate of attendance. 8000 plus students visit each year. Wine is a misunderstood product in India, with a population of more than 1 billion, India ranks among the top 5 countries in alcohol consumption, where wine is only consumed at 2 - 4%.
