I bought the Tin Can “home phone for kids” (Wi-Fi-based) because I loved the idea of having a simple, dedicated phone at home for the kids. After using it, we’re returning it. Here’s what I wish I knew before buying: It’s not wall-mount friendly (no mounting points + no clip/cradle to hold the handset) The cord is heavy and pulls the handset around, so it won’t stay put on a counter/table USB-C power connection doesn’t stay seated well in the base when the phone is handled regularly There’s about a 1-second delay in the voice system The buttons aren’t reliable—kids press them and think it didn’t register (frustration level goes up fast) I still love the concept of a kids home phone—we’re just going to look for a company that executed it better.
