A metastatic brain tumor (also known as brain metastasis or secondary brain tumor) is cancer that begins elsewhere in the body and spreads to the brain. A metastatic brain tumor usually contains the same type of cancer cells found at the primary cancer site. According to the latest research, as many as one third (34%) of patients with primary lung, breast, kidney, colon and skin cancers may develop brain metastases. Join Michael Lim, MD, Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine, as he talks presents key information about the signs and symptoms of a brain metastasis and help webinar participants understand who are at highest risk. Dr. Lim will also focus on the latest, cutting-edge therapies to treat brain metastases, such as immunotherapy, neurosurgery, radiation therapy and more. Webinar participants will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Lim questions in an interactive question and answer session. Please make sure to enter a valid email when registering for this webinar to ensure you receive any additional information about the session.
