Sony ICF-S5 Classic AM FM NSB Radio Review

The Sony ICF-S5 Classic AM FM NSB Portable Radio is All Business when it comes to Sensitivity, and Superb Audio. The Imported S5 has a Linear Scale, and a Rotating Dial for setting Different Log Scales depending on where you live in Japan. FM is Excellent, but I could only test the top portion. NSB is an option as well, giving the user six different crystal controlled shortwave frequencies that they can tune in. The LED Tuning Indicator, along with its size, make this one of my favorites. Tone Control. Simple, and Easy to Use Controls. Smooth Analog Tuning Across the Entire Dial. LED Tuning Indicators on the Dial. Rotating MW Log Scale. Speaker Audio is Pleasant. Compact Size. LED Band Indicator. Made in Japan. Overall, the S5 reminds me of the GE Superadio, just on a smaller scale. These cost more, but if your a fan of the Medium Wave band, and of a pure analog tuning experience, this is one to consider.
