Hommage to Carl Menger [What Would Hayek Say?]

It is Kai Weiß' turn again and he presents a hommage to Carl Menger, the founder of the Austrian School and what Hayek has to say about him. 2021 is a special Menger year: we celebrate 150 years of his opus magnum, the Principles of Economics, and commemorate 100 years of his death. Hayek held Menger in high esteem, he praised him for defining the fundamentals of the Austrian School and thus revolutionizing the science of economics. The two economists agree in many respects, but differ in others. They agree on "organic institutions" (Menger) which is similar to the spontaneous order" (Hayek).
