On december 25th, 1992, i recieved the movie mary poppins as a gift. It was a dream come true from the start, entranced by the beauty the talent, everything about it was alluring to my 2 year old eyes. One item in particular drew my eyes in, a fantastical umbrella, with a head of a parrot for a handle. Mary poppins carried it everywhere and was not till the end when you saw its omnipresent views on current matters on Mary poppins's life. Years later, in 1996, i was transfixed by images of a catalogue in the disney store website. New to computers myself i was simply amazing that such items of a lifetime of wanting were aquired by simply searching the box with images for what i wanted 4 years later. This turned out to be the most sought after walt disney collectible that you could ever aquire, the 1996 replica parrot handle umbrella. While this was the first reproduction disney offered it wasn't the only. In 2004, disney re-used the mold to make another parrot handle umbrella. Unable to aquire this replicas, i waited untill 2006 when i made a documentary detailing the history of the umbrella and my search to find one. I have since lost the 2006 umbrella and now have aquired one that someone was willing to sell.
