This 2024 Lexus Hybrid was STOLEN, STRIPPED, and left for dead... can we save it? Welcome back to OGS Mechanics! Today we are taking on a massive challenge with Car Key Solutions. We’ve got a stolen and recovered Lexus Hybrid in the shop, and it is a complete non-runner. The interior is in pieces, the keys were gone, and worse—someone tried to jump-start it with reverse polarity and completely FRIED the engine ECU! 🤯 But the nightmare doesn't stop there. After swapping the ECU, the engine gave us the dreaded "hybrid death rattle." It turns out the High Voltage traction battery was entirely depleted. Watch as we pull the entire hybrid battery out of the car, break down the science between Toyota/Lexus NiMH and Lithium-ion cells, bench-charge the high voltage system, and hunt down a mysterious missing relay to get this luxury hybrid back on the road.
