Canoeing the New River Gorge

I'm back! Sorry for the layoff! Between COVID, tendonitis, and a local drought, there hasn't been much seat time. Add some GoPro bungles and there you have it. I have lots of footage to comb through, and other videos will be surfacing very soon! This Video: New River Gorge July 18, 2021 Level: 1 foot (visual gauge) Thanks to John Hall, my Canoe Dad, for organizing the trip. I hadn't been to the NRG since 2018, and forgot how much fun it can be. It was like being back out west. Chris and Nate were hungry for PFDs, and the level cooperated for the first time in a couple of years. Everyone did well, some wet hair for a few. I provided the entertainment at the bottom of Lower Kaymoor. After running a creeky line, I got ambushed by a rogue boil that swallowed the boat. I foolishly completed saying "Oh Shit" under water, and drank about a gallon of river before falling out of the boat. Then I climbed back in and ambushed Chris with an unannounced t rescue :) It was a great day all around!
