Today I am making Apple and Blackberry Crumble served with custard. We have been foraging down by the lake for the blackberries and the apples came from a neighbours tree that overhangs our garden. To make the base layer core and chop the apples in cubes and add them to a baking dish. Then wash and add the blackberries to the apples. Weight 25 grams of caster sugar and sprinkle it over the apples and blackberries. You can now mix the ingredients in the dish. To make the topping rub together 150 grams of flour and 75g of margarine in a mixing bowl. Then mix in 60 grams of caster sugar and a tea spoon of Ground Cinnamon. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the base layer and place in the centre of an oven for 45 minuets at 400 degrees fahrenheit or 200 degrees celsius. Take out of the oven when the top is golden brown. We heated a can of ready made Ambrosdia custard in the microwave to serve with the crumble.
