(4 Feb 1998) STORYLINE: T/I: 10:58:02 Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi pledged on Wednesday that the cable car tragedy which killed 20 people in the Dolomite mountains must never be allowed to happen again. Prodi, who visited the scene of the accident with italian and American military officials and US ambassador Thomas Foglietta, vowed that "justice must be done" to determine where blame for the crash lay. A United States military plane struck the cable on Tuesday during a low-level training flight along a mountain valley near the alpine town of Cavalese. The collision severed the cable car line causing 19 skiers - motly foreign tourists - and the cable car operator to plunge to their deaths.
