In this episode, I give an overview of systems change and explore a critical leadership misstep: accountability without capacity. Change becomes ineffective when we create accountability measures—or hold people accountable—before we’ve built the skills and capacity required to meet those expectations. Before we ask for results, we have to ask: What development needs to happen first? Too often, I see leaders holding people accountable for competencies they were never given the opportunity to build. That disconnect doesn’t drive improvement—it creates frustration and breakdown. Sustainable change requires clarity around expectations and intentional investment in skill development. 💬 As always, I invite you to comment, ask questions, and share your thoughts as I continue telling the Come Home story and advancing this work.
