I had the pleasure of filming this lovely and fast Renault Sport R.S. 01 Trophy, including OnBoard at the Monza circuit. We are at the Kateyama Test Days event, and I have to thank the kindness of the friends of the RS-Tuning Team for welcoming me into their Box and allowing all this to happen. Two different pilots drove the car and immediately appeared at ease on the long straights of the Brianzolo racetrack. The R.S.01, which officially entered production in 2014 to take part in the homonymous single-make championship, was subsequently also built in a GT3 variant for endurance races. In the Trophy configuration, the 3.8-litre Twin-Turbo engine derived from that of the Nissan GT-R develops 560hp and 600Nm of torque. Compared to the Japanese engine, however, we find a dry-sump lubrication system and a Pactel electronic control unit equipped with an anti-slip system. The gearbox is a 7-speed Sadev sequential. The body in composite material reinforced with carbon fibre is very beautiful, and the suspensions with independent wheels and double-wishbone push-rod scheme and Öhlins adjustable shock absorbers are very nice. The total weight is about 1.150Kg, and the performance is like a real racing car, from 0-100 Km/h in 2.5 seconds and over 300Km/h of maximum speed. Ci troviamo all'evento Kateyama Test Days e devo ringraziare la gentilezza degli amici dell'RS-Tuning Team per avermi accolto nel loro Box e permesso di realizzate tutto questo. La vettura è stata guidata da due piloti differenti ed è apparsa subito a suo agio sui lunghi rettilinei della pista Brianzola. La R.S.01, entrata ufficialmente in produzione nel 2014 per prendere parte all'omonimo campionato monomarca è stata successivamente realizzata anche in variante GT3 per le gare endurance. Nella configurazione Trophy il motore da 3.8 Litri Twin-Turbo derivato da quello della Nissan GT-R sviluppa 560cv e 600Nm di coppia. Rispetto al propulsore Giapponese troviamo però un sistema di lubrificazione a carter secco ed una centralina elettronica Pactel fornita di un sistema anti-slittamento. Il cambio è un sequenziale Sadev a 7 rapporti. Molto bella la scocca in materiale composito rinforzata con fibra di carbonio e sofisticate le sospensioni con ruote indipendenti e schema push-rod a quadrilateri ed ammortizzatori Öhlins regolabili. Il peso complessivo è di circa 1.150Kg e le preformance sono da vera auto da corsa, da 0-100 Km/h in 2.5 secondi ed oltre 300Km/h di velocità massima.
