If a Pokémon faints, it’s considered dead and must be released or boxed. Every Pokémon must be nicknamed to strengthen emotional bonds. Hardcore Rules No items can be used in battle. Must play in “Set” mode. Cannot exceed the next Gym Leader’s ace Pokémon. Soul Link Rules Pokémon caught on the same route are soul-linked across all games. Linked Pokémon cannot share the same primary type — re-encounter if needed. If one faints, all linked partners die too. Static or gift Pokémon count as separate encounters. Additional Clauses Shiny Clause: Shinies can always be used but replace the route encounter. Fossil Gamble: Fossils are revived blindly — no peeking!
