#BringingTheArtsToLife #LArtAuCoeurDeNosVies This video project was born during the lockdown. We wanted to travel virtually by creating four videos leading us to different places through their atmosphere. This third video in the “Travels” series features Matthieu's transcription of Andrea Gabrieli's Ricercar per sonar a 8. For this video, we used a chamber organ built by Juget-Sinclair Organbuilders. This organ—their 13ᵗʰ instrument—was built in 2002. A Regal stop was recently built, and can be installed in place of the 2-foot stop. We have chosen to perform this Renaissance work using the Regal stop as a regal was originally a small portable organ popular during the Renaissance. The temperament is Quarter-comma meantone. Our clothes come from Dracolite, the Medieval boutique located in Montreal, QC. We thank the chapel of Notre Dame de Bonsecours, Carole Golding, and their organist, Benoît Marineau, for allowing us to use the chapel.
