This new Swiss Series will be about all of the nice footages that I captured in my time living in Switzerland. I will mainly cover wild nature and city P.O.I. around Switzerland with the use of photography, Videos and Time Lapses. In this 4th Episode we cover the Augstmatthorn ridge hike in BE (Bern). 🏔️ Welcome to Global Mountain Tales! Join me, Robert Pinsent, as we embark on an unforgettable journey to conquer the most dangerous hike in Switzerland. 🏞️ Our adventure begins in the picturesque village of Brienz, where we board the non-electrified Brienz Rothorn Railway (BRB). This extraordinary tourist rack railway takes us from Brienz (600m) to the summit of Brienzer Rothorn (2250m), offering stunning views along the way. 🚶‍♂️ Once we disembark, the real challenge awaits - the Augstmatthorn ridge hike. Covering over 23km towards Interlaken, this thrilling hike involves 700m uphill and a breathtaking 1600m descent. The rewards, though, are beyond compare, with awe-inspiring views of the iconic Eiger and Jungfrau mountains. ⚠️ Caution is essential, as this hike is considered dangerous in Switzerland. I strongly advise enlisting the expertise of a qualified mountain guide for a safe and enriching experience. Please be aware that there's no official trail from Brienzer Rothorn to the Harderbahn Funicular, and some sections are unmaintained and obscured by tall grass and loose rocks. 🌄 As we conquer peaks no higher than 2070m, we'll encounter fellow hikers and appreciate the camaraderie of the trail.
