NEW FOREST SPRING | A photo and musical portrait of the changing landscape

New Forest Spring by Stephen Godsall, played by Cheryl Ashman, tenor sax/clarinet; Joanna Dazeley, alto sax/flute and Stephen Godsall. The pictures were taken in the New Forest between February and May, showing the changing landscape. This piece started off as a string quartet and it's taken some time to find the right combination of instruments; the Hohner electric piano is one of my favourite keyboards but rather temperamental. Thanks to Joanna and Cheryl for your playing! For those that don't know the New Forest, it's a National Park on England's central south coast - it's not new at all, having been an open landscape for over 1000 years, partly wooded but much of it heathland.
