The Rockford IceHogs hockey team plays half of their schedule at home in front of their adoring fans at the Rockford MetroCentre (now the BMO Harris Bank Center.) But what happens when the team hits the road to play the other half of the season? This is the full-length documentary movie that sold thousands of copies around the world when it was released in the Fall of 2005. Production begin during the 2004-2005 season when cameras were given complete access to the players to reveal that life on the road for a minor league hockey player isn't all it's cracked up to be. During production the NHL lockout occurred and several high profile NHL players, including Chris Chelios and Darren Hatcher, played in the UHL and this is included in the film. The producer was also allowed to mic-up a player, head coach, head referee and athletic trainer to capture the conversations and drama on the ice a fan would never know existed.
