Parmesan is the generic name for this type of cheese and only the parmesan cheese from a specific region in Italy can be called Parmigiano-Reggiano. I love generic parmesan cheese but the taste, aroma and flavor of Parmigiano-Reggiano is at another level. I’ve been using my block of parmesan cheese in many of the dishes I’ve been cooking but I still have a lot left. This predicament got me thinking, “What else can I make using parmesan cheese?” Then, as if a light bulb in my mind lit up, I remembered that expensive box of parmesan chips or crisps that I once bought at the supermarket. This is my first attempt to make some delicious parmesan chips! Make “eat” home! Try this recipe and let me know what you think. Parmesan Chips Recipe (One Ingredient Only - Parmigiano-Reggiano) Ingredients 1 ½ cups of parmesan cheese, finely grated Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350° F. 2. Finely grate parmesan cheese. 3. Line a baking sheet with a silicon baking mat or parchment paper. 4. Using a 2-inch diameter round mold, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese within the mold to create discs of cheese. 5. Keep each disc about 2 inches apart. 6. Bake for 7 minutes. 7. If needed, use a knife to separate each baked parmesan chips. 8. Store in an airtight container. Tips Based on my research, parmesan chips is best made with Parmigiano-Reggiano as generic parmesan cheeses do not melt as well.
