Creating a hypnotic Shoegaze Trip Hop song with the Polyend Tracker Mini.

...a song. I have no idea where this sits genre wise but it was fun to make. Not the most live of jams but everything bar the final guitar performance was done with the Polyend Tracker Mini. Full playlist of jams here:    • Tell the man to jam it: 51 - 60   I feel a a little like this jam fought me all of the way, however the workflow was more enjoyable and quicker than usign the Roland SP404 mkII. So a win for the tracker there. Basically, after sequencing some drums I recorded a guitar part into the Boss RC-500 looper and then used the live record on the tracker to lay down the bass synth. After that I sampled the guitar part in the looper and added that as a sample in the sequencer. Then rinse and repeat to add some lead elements and melody. I probably should have dropped the Wampler Terraform Tremolo from the 'lead' guitar sections as it all sounds a bit watery. Maybe that sounds interesting and good, maybe it sounds off. I can't decide, what do you think? Overdrive on most of the guitar parts from the T Rex Mudhoney II, reverb from the left side of the Chase Bliss Mood Mk II. fuzz is the Bleak District Electric Antistatic. After bringing all the elements together in a 'song' I did a final live recording adding some more lead parts over the top with the Lovepedal Stir of Echoes delay. ...and there we have the final thing. I have no idea what genre it is, algorithm do your worst. There are guitar elements that to me sound like Earth or maybe some Dead Meadow bordering on pyschedelic rock. There are some post rock bits, some nods to shoegaze and a definite hip hop beat which pushes it in the direction of trip hop. Anyhow I hope you enjoy it. If you do let me know in the comments.
