Robert, thank you very much for coming to talk to me about the British Council. Can you introduce yourself and tell us what you... 1:10 Thank you for inviting me. I am a humble electronic engineer. I'm an Italian guy who just came to Qatar a couple of years ago, in January 2023. 1:25 I have a background in the automotive sector, so a different sector from the one that I'm working in now. Roughly 25-27 years in the automotive sector with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and with the Pio Group on two wheels. 1:46 I spent all my time between four and two-wheel vehicles. Then suddenly, I moved to the event and exhibition sector. 2:03 It’s strange to say after seven years, but that’s because the former CEO of Alfa Romeo, a sporty cars brand, became the CEO of the biggest Italian company in the exhibition sector, called F Milano. 2:24 So, I switched sectors and changed cities from Trin in the north of Italy to Milan, starting in this amazing sector. 2:42 I passed from a single business sector to a multiple business sector because in the event and exhibition industry, it’s easy to see how you can have a meeting in the morning about the event in the packaging sector, and in the afternoon, about modern art exhibitions. 3:22 This first jump in exhibitions in Milan gave me the possibility to expand activities. I got in touch with people here in Qatar, and we started our relationships. 3:49 Then I got a call from DOA, and that's why I’m here now as general manager of QNCC. 3:55 QNCC stands for Qatar National Convention Center. Please don't mix it with DOA exhibition and convention center, as they're separate entities. 4:02 We are within Education City in Doha, which is like a city within a city, a state within a state, as we are part of Qatar Foundation with our own dynamics, regulations, and mindsets. 5:21 I tell you a few numbers – we have ten kitchens spread over 4,000 square meters. 5:37 Next month, we are re-entering the hospitality business by refurbishing our kitchens and renting them out. 6:25 When you order food from Talabat or Noonoo, there's a high chance that your sandwich or food will come from our kitchens. 7:11 Our organization is very flexible. We are part of AMAC holding, which is the commercial arm of Qatar Foundation. We manage several assets within Qatar Foundation, not just QNCC.
