CROSS: [full] cyclocross race #19- A cat. - Cyclocross 'Revanche race' by WV het Stadion

04-01-2019 - Cyclocross by WV het Stadion at Nedereindse berg This saturday is the last race of the season at our club and 'my' course. Last week we had the club championships and this week is some kind of a rematch race, where the most important thing comes after the race and thats cleaning up the track! After a good start i went a bit to hard making me suffer a bit to much in the first half of the lap. After a descent where i came on the inside of Jesse, my BOA got loose on my right shoe. After a minute or so i could fasten it again, but costing my to much time and power. Then we went into the woods and i made a costly mistake on the off-camber part. After that the leaders where out of reach. A rematch race like this is for the fun, because winning wasn't possible today. I wasnt focused, or sharp enough to ride perfect lines, or ride smart. Thats why i forgot to take water with me that morning or didnt do a good warm up. All these little things add up and makes it so that i didnt stand a chance today. Well, today that was fine. 4th spot and on to next year! Fortunatly this isn't my last CX race of the season. Will ride 3 more the coming weeks just for the fun, but hopefully with a bit more focus that this week. I will ride to local competition races in Gouda and a regional race at Woerden.
