"It just reminds you why you do your job" Patient Chris had only 24 hours to live, after he was diagnosed with a rare-but-aggressive form of cancer. In order to survive, Chris had to undergo a life-threatening neck biopsy to determine the specific cancer. It was this biopsy, when our unlikely hero - one of our pathologists, Dr Anand Murugasu - stepped in to identify his cancer, cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer), and made a bold and brave suggestion that was a critical turning point in saving Chris life.
