To the long-distance delivery, the final bills might vary even the same trucker delivers 2 containers at the same time. Each container is unique. They not only might have the different Free Time, Last Free Day (LFD), Demurrage Fee, Per Diem, Trucker Detention Fee, etc. we discussed via previous videos, but also, the trucker has different charges upon the following variable factors. Importers are responsible for paying the bill, even though the out-of-control matters might lead to these extra fees. 1. Base Trucking Delivery Fee - basically unchanged 2. Port Congestion Fee – it’s charged by trucker, not port terminal. As terminal got the congestion, it might take 3 or 4 hours for the driver to pick up or return the container. 1st hour is free, additional waiting hour fee is $75/hour. Basically, rates range from $150 to $200 7. Chassis Split Fee - terminal is shortage of chassis, and trucker has to rent the chassis from other location, and such fee occurs when the trucker returns the empty container to the terminal and get the additional trip to return the rent chassis to the other location. Basically, rates range from $75 to $175 depending on how far the distance is 8. Trucker Detention Fee – normally cargo receiver takes over 1 hour for live unloading. The longer, the higher the detention fee. Currently rate is $100/hour for the additional waiting time 9. And more…
