We have all done it, taken a shot and the background looks cluttered and is distracting to the main subject. Mark first of all discusses the camera fix and setup to minimise the problem in the future and then shows you how to quickly add impact to a photograph by using Lens Blur in Camera RAW , also available in Lightroom. The 2 images used, both shot with an 85mm prime lens are dramatically different but both can be improved to help blur the background in post production to give the effect of a wider aperture like f2.8 or less.
