Welcome to episode 17 of The Paint Show! I know a lot of you have been waiting for the next one, so here it is! I'm really enjoying this series, and even though I take some time between episodes, I plan on continuing it as much as possible. In this episode we'll be looking at Old Holland's Cobalt Violet Light tube. Here is some general information about Old Holland watercolor paints, found at Handprint: http://www.handprint.com/HP/WCL/pigmt... ** INFO ABOUT THIS TUBE ** Pigments - PB73, PV23, PV19, PR112 Lightfastness adheres to ASTM - 1 & 2 (unsure what that means, but from what I read their violets aren't that good in terms of lightfastness..) Series E (which I assume means it's expensive, especially because it was the most expensive paint I found in the box at the store) Transparent Granulating ** CONCLUSION ** I hope you enjoyed this episode of The Paint Show! I'm really not sure what I'll use this paint for. I'm a little worried about the binder separating, as well as the possible lightfastness issues. With that being said, this could be a good paint to use for exercises (brush technique, but also monochromatic painting, as it does have a nice range of values).
