Actor David Nykl quickly became a fan favorite when he made his STARGATE ATLANTIS debut as Dr. Radek Zelenka early in the show's first season. But the brilliant scientist wasn't actually the first role he went out for. David tells "Dial the Gate" which SGA character he auditioned for first, and how Zelenka changed from originally being a Russian member of the science expedition. David fends off his feline foe while also talking about his first episode ("Thirty Eight Minutes"), working with David Hewlett ("Rodney McKay") and Torri Higginson ("Elizabeth Weir"), delivering lines of technobabble, and Zelenka's quirkiness.
