Irwin and Xenia S. Miller Prize" in the NHGCA main gallery and "Locality" in the BG Project Space. Remarks from "Locality" curator, Sr. Gallery Associate Grant DiDomizio, followed by insights from Exhibit Columbus/Landmarks Columbus Foundation Executive Director, Richard McCoy. About "Exhibit Columbus: Ten Years of J. Irwin and Xenia S. Miller Prize" presented at the NHGCA in partnership with Exhibit Columbus/Landmarks Columbus Foundation (Columbus, IN): New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art at University of Southern Indiana is proud to host Landmark Columbus Foundation’s "10 Years of the J. Irwin & Xenia S. Miller Prize," a celebration of Exhibit Columbus in New Harmony, IN. Exhibit Columbus, a feature program of Landmark Columbus Foundation, presents this ten-year retrospective exhibition examining a decade of site-responsive installations commissioned through Exhibit Columbus between 2016 and 2025. Expressed through insights provided on text panels by staff members at the Foundation, this exhibition brings together twenty-three Miller Prize projects across five exhibition cycles, offering a reflective look at how design exploration in public space can shape civic life over time. Rather than recreating past installations, the exhibition focuses on interpretation. Through over 120 photographs by celebrated photographer Hadley Fruits, this exhibition examines each cycle, how designers have responded to place, and how communities experienced these works in everyday life.' About "Locality: An Exhibit About Culture and Place in Evansville and New Harmony": In situ at BG Projects at the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art, this group exhibit includes works by artists Michael Patrick Bailey, Jerry Baum, Stanley Campbell, Emily Gartner, Jonathan Hamilton, Amy Musia, and Tory Schendel-Vyvoda. Work by Jerry Baum (1934-2022) is featured on loan courtesy the University of Southern Indiana Archives and Special Collections. The exhibit references the built environment, reflecting on how historic buildings and monuments in New Harmony and Evansville serve reference points that shape people and connect us to shared common ground across time.
