In this short video you can see how i’ve identified a contributing factor as to the cause of rising damp in this Wiltshire property. This is local to me in Trowbridge, so I have pretty good understanding of these buildings from years of experience working in the area. We’ve carried out previous repairs because of penetrating damp issues last year. This being modern paint removal with our Thermatech super heated hot water system. Repointing with lime putty, and rendering in lime putty. The client carried out the lime wash painting. The property has now dried down from the penetrating damp issues. This year is about a survey for rising damp issue causes, and offering a repair. The CCTV drain survey as you will see plays a very important part in the damp diagnosis. This defect will cause the ground in the area to become saturated and increase the height of rise, when it comes to rising damp. Fix the drainage issues and we are on the right track. I offer cctv drain surveys to inspect for the root cause of rising damp, along with quantitative moisture analysis following BRE DIGEST 245.
