The term 'ladyboy' is used in many of the Asian countries. It denotes a person born as a male who identifies with the female gender and lifestyle. In other countries, and even within some Asian countries, the term 'transgender' is more commonly used, but the same respect should be offered. At the top of this interview with Katrina, I ask if she is comfortable with the term 'ladyboy' and she is. The focus here is to ask some general questions about her life and about her feelings toward living this lifestyle and dating. It is a simple interview meant to show a side of the 'ladyboy' culture in Asia that is real and lived everyday by many. Katrina is smart, articulate, and can speak five languages. I have added some photos as to how she appears in her everyday life. Although she was shy to start the interview, she was comfortable as we progressed.
