Because of this, physicians require advice on the selection of appropriate laboratory tests and the interpretation of many test results. The diagnostic management team, or DMT, in multiple areas of diagnostic pathology, is the clinical unit headed by an expert laboratory director that provides advice on test selection and interprets test results in the clinical context of the patient.
