These special formations don't happen overnight and with 60 years difference between the two aircraft, usually the Avro Lancaster is spectacular enough but to have it leading in front of Eurofighter Typhoon is something else! Both aircraft are based at RAF Coningsby; the Avro Lancaster PA474 is part of the BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) inventory and the Typhoon ZJ914 'Blackjack' is flown by 29 squadron's Typhoon display pilot Flt Lt Matt Brighty. Both aircraft are flying at around 120 knot, which is a comfortable speed for the Lancaster. Both aircraft finish with a break, leading to the Typhoon's display which we will have on another video...
