Road trip to Eco center São Domingos. Praia, Cape Verde 🇨🇻

On Saturday ,we Took the kids out on a road trip to this center with botanical gardens and few farm animals. It’s about 30 minutes drive from the city of Praia. They had so much fun with activities such as scavenger hunting,tree planting,recycling,puzzle game and also learned to make some Traditional Cape Verdean snacks. It had a beautiful scenery and cool atmosphere. The pastel de milho 🌽 (corn flour Pie) was delicious the best i have ever had so far in all my years here. The owner of the center gave us history of the place. The center has about 800 plants. It serves to combat climate change and prevent extinction of certain plants. Some fun fact about the center: Renowned scientist charles Darwin during his sea voyage visited Cape Verde and this particular part of Cape Verde in the 1800s. He discovered some plants and exotic birds for the first time here back when those plants didn’t have names. Making Charles Darwin one of the God Father’s of the center. We definitely learned a lot.
