#timorleste #seroja #matahatipemuda Humanitarian Tragedy in Timor Leste | History of Timor Leste Eps. 3 The incident at the beginning of this video occurred at the Santa Cruz cemetery in Dili Timor Leste. This incident occurred on November 12 1991. At that time the Indonesian military shot at the crowd indiscriminately. The crowd, numbering thousands of people, ran frantically to avoid being shot. The sound of sirens and gunshots seemed to give a message that their lives would not be saved. Hundreds of people were hit by gunfire, some were even stabbed with a knife. This event was well recorded by Max Stahl and distributed throughout the world. The tragic event is known as the Santa Cruz tragedy, a tragedy which was a trauma for the Timorese people. This tragedy is just one of the many humanitarian tragedies carried out by some members of the ABRI against the Timorese people. And some of these tragedies are very sad to tell and will probably re-traumatize the Timorese people. One thing is certain, after East Timor joined Indonesia, on the one hand, the Indonesian government built infrastructure in East Timor. However, on the other hand, it turns out that Indonesia is still carrying out acts of militarism. Actions of militarism were marked by various human tragedies. Arrests, torture, rape became a routine for the Timorese people. Gradually, East Timor, which at that time was under the red and white flag, had to become independent. So, why do ABRI troops still carry out militaristic actions? And does Indonesia deserve to be considered the colonizer of Timor Leste? Or vice versa? And are Western countries involved in the conflict in Timor Leste?
