Hey everyone! I was able to get my hands on an official Brazuca match ball. The same ball that will be used in every match of the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brasil! The past drama with the 2010 Jabulani made a review of the Brazuca absolutely necessary and answered some big questions for me. First lets take a look at the specs 6 Panel Polyurethane covering Latex bladder Dimpled for better ball control and touch, (resembles UEFA Champions League Ball) Very little to no water retention Thermally bound (no stitching) Roundest and most tested Adidas official ball ever. 15.2 ounces/ under 1 lb The biggest question was the Brazuca's flight path, was it going to knuckle/wobble like the infamous 2010 Jabulani? The new paneling and dimple style answered this easily. NO WAY. The Brazuca has a flight path that is completely readable and isn't as unpredictable as the Jabulani is. The brazuca is an absolute pleasure to take shots with and to take out to the field. I have one qualm with the Brazuca, it's thermal stitching which makes it a rounder truer ball at peak areas seems to split apart but not enough to change the ball at all. The ball comes with a 2 year shape guarantee so any paneling issues should/would be covered under this plan but it's definitely something that I recommend keeping an eye on. The 2014 World Cup is already taking big strides to becoming a huge success with the release of such a technically advanced ball and I can't wait to see all the ideas that are inspired by the Brazuca's architecture.
