304 V8 AMC AMX back on the dyno! New carb, new tune from Old Man's Garage, what will it make?!

Let's strap this ugly monster down on the dyno and see what she'll make! The 1979 AMC Spirit AMX is back after some tweaking from Bill over at Old Man's Garage, she's running better than ever with the new Brawler 650cfm mechanical secondary carb and we are excited to see what she'll make! Back to CIA Performance for testing. For those who DON'T already know this car, some quick back story. What you see here is a 1979 AMC AMX, it's not the sexy first generation AMX most of you are familiar with... it's the last gasp of cool and sporty from the American Motors Company. Under the flaming hood rests a freshly rebuilt AMC 304 V8, nothing too overly aggressive just a "budget build" unit with factory cast heads and exhaust manifolds. We have swapped out the factory 2 barrel carb and intake manifold for an Edelbrock Performer AMC aluminum intake and a Brawler 650cfm mechanical secondary carb. Bolted to the back of that little V8 is a factory 4 speed transmission. We are NOT expecting massive numbers from this thing, it was in no way a big power big budget build. This 304 AMC was done in the same style MOST people would do, not tossing a massive budget at a build like we pointed out with the Powernation AMC build. Not saying they did it the right way and we did it the wrong way, just ours is a bit more realistic . So what kind of power numbers are we going to see? Will it blow up? Is there more power to be had with dyno tuning versus the man behind the power of the SRC / Street Racing Channel S10? Well time to find out!
