Is there EVEN A DIFFERENCE between them?… YES! In today's video, I’m going to (hopefully) simply explain the difference between Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Counsellors. Throughout the course of my career, this has generated a LOT of confusion, not only for myself but for others. In reality, we often use these terms interchangeably as the titles usually just mean we are working with someone in a therapeutic capacity. THAT SAID, there are certainly differences between the three and it’s important to be aware of which practitioner you may want to become or see in a clinical setting. Today we are focusing on the definitions of these three practitioners, what it is they do and who they typically work with. If anything, I hope this video provides some clarification to my mom… as I am not a Psychiatrist and likely never will be! I hope that you all enjoy! Take care!
