Customizing Mepps Aglia Spinners

While I spend a good portion of my free time fly fishing when I can - I do like to spin fish for trout as well. Sometimes conditions - like high water - make using spinning gear the effective choice. Not to take anything away from fly fishing but - I'm not a purist - I'm an angler - I fish. Lures with treble hooks - like a lot of excellent hard baits and spinners offer - causes me grief when I'm looking to release the fish I just caught. Even when crimping down the barbs on a treble hook - it can be difficult to get the treble hook out of the mouth of the trout without causing some level of stress and/or injury. My solution in the spinner lure category like using a Mepps or other spinner - is to customize the Mepps Aglia single hook lure.
