Its mighty 6 engines broke many world records and became the world's largest plane. Originally designed by the USSR to carry the Buran Space Shuttle, it was out of use for almost a decade, providing a source of spare parts to the smaller Antonov 124 fleet. After 2001, it became a cargo charter, transporting parts for many other aircraft. In the same year it took on the name Mriya which translates to 'dream' in Ukrainian. The aircraft was destroyed during the Battle of Antonov Airport in February 2022, not long after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
