Presented by Dainik Bhaskar Sudha Murty played a pivotal role in the creation of Infosys Foundation, supporting initiatives in healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, and public hygiene. Her work rehabilitating over 3,000 Devadasis and building 15,000 toilets and 70,000 school libraries in rural Karnataka highlights her impact. She launched Avishkar Dil Se, promoting social entrepreneurship, and supported the Inali Foundation’s work with artificial limbs. A prolific writer of 300+ titles, her books have sold over 60 lakh copies and are translated into major languages. Recipient of numerous awards, including the Padma Bhushan, she now serves as a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament. Akshata Murty is passionate about education and the positive effects it has on young people. During her time living in Downing Street, she launched ‘Lessons at 10’. This initiative provided children from schools across the United Kingdom with a unique opportunity to go behind the famous black door of Number 10 and learn important life lessons from special guests. She is also a keen supporter of the veteran community in the United Kingdom. Akshata spent over a decade investing in early-stage consumer-focused British companies. Originally from India, Akshata obtained her undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from Stanford University. She is on the board of Claremont McKenna College and was previously a Trustee of the San Francisco Exploratorium. Akshata is mother to two girls, Krishna and Anoushka, who are 12 and 13, and is married to Rishi Sunak MP.
