We've got together with Bentley Motors and we have this splendid world class display here today" 5. Various of Bentley cars on display 6. SOUNDBITE ( English) Laurence Trackman, Event Director, "This is a celebration of all things to do with the interwar period, the jazz age. We bought together this beautiful house, these wonderful cars, everyone's dressed in period, we have period music, and we have an art deco exhibition and display. After the war it was traded twice, and Miss Madeline Iris Ilett of Lincolnshire wound up with it in 1953. Old Bentley 24. New Bentley LEADIN The Bentley motor car has graced Britain's roads for nearly ninety years. Now, an historic country house has celebrated the age of the graceful driving machine along with the 'Spirit of the Jazz Age.' STORYLINE The first Bentley engine roared into existence in 1919 in New Street Mews in London. But here, at Westonbirt House in Gloucestershire, these enthusiasts are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Derby Bentley. Event organiser, Laurence Trackman, says the 'Derby Bentley was the first to be built in Derby by Rolls Royce'. He says that this rally is a celebration of the interwar period when cars where still a novelty. From Art Deco artifacts to early gramophone players, parasols and picnics, a romantic view of the thirties is lovingly re-created. She speaks wistfully of lost age of manners and alfresco dining.
