It focuses on the USA – and shows how political pressure can make journalistic work difficult even in democracies and restrict our right to information. The Uncensored Library is a virtual library within Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time. The library serves as a loophole for distributing censored articles by journalists in their home countries. Although there is no systematic state censorship in the US, the Trump administration has been targeting independent media and critical reporting since taking office in January 2025. With the new US room, we want to remind people that it is not only authoritarian regimes that violate press freedom. Democracies must also defend themselves against such attacks. At the same time, the library continues to grow: we have added new articles by independent journalists to the rooms on Russia, Belarus, Iran, and Egypt.
